Leland James

Leland James is the author of five books of poetry and a book on poetry craft. He has published more than one hundred poems in journals and magazines worldwide, including: The Lyric, Form Quarterly, HQ, The Haiku Quarterly, Rattle, The South Carolina Review, Spoon River Poetry Review, New Millennium Writings, Osprey Journal, The London Reader, London Magazine, Vallum, Orbis, Magma, Arc, HyperTexts, As You Were, The Eclectic Muse, Foliated Oak Literary Magazine, The Magnolia Review, The Delinquent, Slipstream, Inklette, Monkey Kettle, Literary Juice, Nourish, and Midnight Circus. He was the winner of the Aesthetica Magazine Creative Writing Award for Poetry, The Little Red Tree International Poetry Prize, the Portland Pen Poetry Contest, the Writer’s Forum short poem contest, and was a winner of an Atlanta Review International Publication Prize. He was runners-up for the poetry prizes of the Sequestrum Editor’s Reprint Awards, Fish International in Ireland, the Welsh International, The London Magazine, and the Society of Classical Poets. He has received honors in dozens of other competitions, including the Golden Quill Awards, the Bridport Prize, Morton Marr, The Southwest Review.
